GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) stock rose nearly 2% in Friday’s premarket session as broader market sentiment improved. Nasdaq futures gained 0.76%, while S&P 500 futures rose 0.49%.

GE Vernova Scores Supernode Stage 3 Deal

The company said Friday it will provide technology for the third stage of Quinbrook’s Supernode Battery Energy Storage System project in Queensland, Australia.

The latest contract expands GE Vernova’s role across all three stages of the large-scale energy storage development. GE Vernova booked the Stage 3 order in the first quarter of 2026.

GE Vernova will now provide power conversion, control and integration technologies for all three stages of one of Australia’s largest battery storage projects.

Stage 3 will add 260 megawatts and 1,216 megawatt-hours of four-hour storage. Once completed, the full Supernode project will provide 780 MW and 3,075 MWh of battery storage at a single site.

GE Vernova will provide power conversion, plant controls, system integration and grid-connection support. The company booked the Stage 3 order in the first quarter of 2026.

Stage 3 has also secured Generator Performance Standards acceptance, a key grid-connection milestone. It will become GE Vernova’s first grid-forming battery energy storage project in Australia.

Technical Analysis

GE Vernova remains under near-term technical pressure. At $982.01, the stock trades 2% below its 20-day simple moving average of $1,002.67. It also trades 4.9% below its 50-day SMA of $1,033.26.

Investors are also watching whether GE Vernova can stabilize after pulling back from its July peak.

However, the longer-term trend remains positive. The stock trades 13.5% above its 200-day SMA of $866.18.

Momentum has also weakened. The moving average convergence divergence, or MACD, sits below its signal line, while the histogram remains negative. That suggests buying momentum has cooled.

The low-$1,000 range is now an important area to watch. A move back above the 20-day and 50-day averages could signal that the recent pullback is turning into consolidation rather than a deeper decline.

  • Key resistance: $1,047. This level sits above the stock’s major short-term moving averages and could limit a rebound.
  • Key support: $897.50. This level is closer to the 200-day SMA and an area where buyers could step in.

Analyst Outlook

The stock trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of 27.7. Analysts have a consensus Buy rating on GE Vernova, with an average price forecast of $1,222.83. Recent analyst actions include:

  • Mizuho: Neutral, raised its price forecast to $949 on July 27.
  • Bernstein: Outperform, raised its price forecast to $1,298 on July 23.
  • JPMorgan: Overweight, raised its price forecast to $1,330 on July 23.

Benzinga Edge Rankings

The Benzinga Edge scorecard highlights GE Vernova’s strengths and weaknesses compared with the broader market.

  • Momentum: 81.54. The high score reflects the stock’s strong longer-term performance despite its recent pullback.
  • Value: 9.02. The low score suggests GE Vernova remains expensive based on traditional valuation measures.

Overall, GE Vernova remains a momentum-driven stock with a premium valuation. A move back above the low-$1,000 range could strengthen its technical setup. However, its low value score could leave the stock vulnerable to sharper pullbacks when sentiment weakens.
